Rev. Jerome Leckband grew up in southern Minnesota. In 1987, he graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota, with an Elementary Education degree and was placed at Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview, Minnesota. After teaching there for four years, he then taught third grade for the Waseca, Minnesota, Public School district for five years. In 1996 Rev. Leckband began seminary studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In the summer of 1997, he went back to Plainview to visit the school he taught at and met his future wife, Kristi, who was teaching at Immanuel Lutheran School. They were married in the summer of 1998. After graduating from the seminary in 2000, Rev. Leckband was ordained and installed as the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster, Nebraska. He continues to serve the members of Trinity along with Golgotha Lutheran Church of Wausa. He is the head teacher of their homeschool, although Kristi does most of the teaching and planning. Their oldest child, Joanna, graduated from Wittenberg Academy in 2021. They also have two other children – Maria and Josiah. Together the family enjoys camping, hiking, and biking. Pastor also enjoys gardening and tennis.
