Kate grew up in St. Charles, MO outside of St. Louis. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education/Director of Parish Music and an M.A. in Educational Administration from Concordia University-Chicago, IL. She loved teaching young children and leading church music in Chicago, Ft. Wayne, and St. Charles County before and while raising her daughters. She was then called to Hamel, IL to serve as teacher/music director and eventually became the principal of their classical Lutheran School leading them through their initial CCLE accreditation. In 2021 she was called to serve as the principal of Our Savior Lutheran School.
Kate lives in Houston, TX, with her husband, John, and their daughters. Kate and John are thankful that Annie and Olivia are 2022 WA graduates and Emily will be a WA graduate in 2023.
In her free time, Mrs. Thoelke enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching old movies, and playing piano and organ.
