A native of St. Louis, MO, Pastor Smith graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 2010, having previously earned his degree in Communications and Public Relations from Concordia University at Austin, TX, in 2006. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarksville, TN. Previously, his journey in ministry has taken him to diverse places, including short-term mercy and mission work in seven different countries, a vicarage in Bossier City, LA, hospital chaplaincy at Seton in Austin, TX, as a pastor in Indiana, Southern Illinois, and Iowa, as well as a brief period as Headmaster and theology teacher of a Lutheran School in Southern Illinois. He also enjoyed seven years (2015–2022) teaching the Lutheran Confessions with the KFUO radio show/podcast Concord Matters. Pastor Smith is happily married to Heather, a former classical Lutheran educator who now homeschools their four children. In his free time, he enjoys winemaking, woodworking, reading good books on a wide range of subjects, and enjoys a variety of sports.
